International Women’s Day, celebrated every March 8, has evolved far beyond a calendar event. Today, #IWD is a powerful symbol of women’s ongoing fight for equal rights. It’s a moment of reflection—on the progress made and the challenges still ahead in closing the gender gap.
Yet despite the strides achieved over recent decades, certain industries—like tech and gaming—remain strongly associated with masculinity. This is especially true in gaming, where female representation is often reduced to stereotypes or hypersexualized portrayals, and where women who try to take part are frequently ignored, dismissed, or pushed out by the community.
A community that exists—but stays invisible
We saw March 8 as a unique opportunity for the brand to take a meaningful first step toward change. The goal sounded simple but posed a major challenge: to amplify female participation within the Logitech community.
Our work began with research: market analysis, competitive benchmarks, and a deep dive into our digital audience. The findings were clear—there are plenty of women in gaming; they’re just not being shown. So it was time to change the narrative and spotlight new role models. Who better to empower women than women themselves?
A story worth sharing
#IWriteMyOwnStory was a campaign led by female creators in gaming and tech across Latin America. Their mission: to inspire Logitech’s female followers to keep going—no matter how difficult their dreams may seem.
We partnered with 29 influencers, each of whom received a special Logitech kit, along with a personal invitation to record a video sharing their journey—honest stories of challenges, growth, and determination. Every single one of them responded. The result: four emotional, high-impact video capsules for social media, each aligned with key brand values.
